Creare Does Sport Relief 2016

Being a digital marketing agency you would think that we aren’t the most sporty individuals, well you’re quite right! This year for Sports Relief, our money raising efforts did not resemble anything remotely sporty (unless you count throwing tennis balls at tin cans or trying to kick a ball during a penalty shoot out).

We raised money how we know best with cake, sweets, a Crearenival (carnival if you’re unsure) and a good old fashioned quiz!

The Creare Bake Off

We started the week off with a bake sale and competition. Each entry had a number and we gave reviews and ratings based on taste, complexity and the overall appearance. One of our more experienced bakers Ryan created an amazing Bakewell cake which was voted the best out of the competition! Overall the Creare bakeoff raised over £100.

The Crearenival (or The Creare Carnival)

We stuck with the theme of sweet treats for our Wednesday Crearenival with some fun games and a candy floss machine. The array of events included:

  • Tin Can Alley – won by Kim who managed to hit down all 4 cans!
  • Penalty Shoot Out – with the highest score of the day Chris won the grand prize.
  • Guess The Weight Of The Sweet Jar – this proved tricky. Two of our people guessed the same weight so we had a guess off to see who could get the closest. The winner? Our Pay Per Click wizard Tom Nolan!
  • Pin The Moustache On Rand – so it turns out that none of us are very good at this game – there was no overall winner! We’ll have to take this one off the Christmas party games list…

The Creare Quiz

Rounding the week off, we hosted our very own Creare Pub Quiz on Friday afternoon. With some very challenging questions from ‘How old is the earth?’ to ‘what is the diameter of a basketball hoop?’ we had 8 teams battling it out for the top three prizes! The teams all came in very close but the winning group turned out to be ’Quiztina Aguilera’ (forgive the awful name).

In total across the week we raised a whopping £217.02! Thank you to everyone that got involved, the money is going to a great cause.

We’re looking forward to raising even more money next year and who know’s, maybe we’ll actually do some sport…
